| My name is John Gray. I was born in Suffolk and lived and
worked there until moving to Lincolnshire some years ago. I am a fine art
painter and copyist with many years experience, having studied art, art
restoration and photography.
I accept
commissions for paintings from private clients looking for a single work of art,
the antiques trade to compliment traditional interiors, interior designers
(usually looking for modern pieces) and corporate clients including hotels,
restaurants, offices etc looking for multiple or themed works.
I have no set
personal painting style or genre and unlike many artists, I do not claim to be
'driven' by poetry, the wind in the trees or some other force - I simply
paint what my clients want, be it in a traditional or modern style, an
original work or fine art copy, and hopefully at a price to meet their
budget. |

I have worked on
countless commissions over the years for private and corporate clients in a
variety of painting styles.
In 1995/6 I was
afforded privileged access to many of London's West End stage musicals including
Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, Cats and Phantom of the
Opera, where I produced sketches and paintings of show scenes, back-stage
and rehearsal elements and leading artists. Whilst working on Oliver
at the Palladium, I spent time at the home of the late Lionel Bart, the
shows creator and his portrait is in the collection of the Theatre Museum in
Covent Garden.
I am most grateful to
producers Sir Cameron Mackintosh and Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and their
respective companies for their support; a privilege only previously granted to
the respected American artist, the late Robert Heindel. |

I acknowledge the
support of companies who have sponsored me on past projects including:-
Max Grumbacher (USA),
Goldline UK, Radison Hotel Group, Centre State Agency, and Stoll Moss Theatres. |
